The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ms Tina Joemat-Pettersson would like to extend her congratulations to Fruit SA for devising an internationally recognised ethical standards and audit process in response to South Africa’s needs. This will guarantee South Africa’s fruit is produced in line with acceptable labour and environmental practices.
The Agriculture sector has once again broken the mould and placed South Africa on the global map. I am very proud of Fruit SA’s milestone and wish to especially congratulate them on responding to local demands and calls on other sectors to follow the lead of Fruit SA, says the Minister.
