Concerned Congolese, including but not limited to Congolese Democracy and Justice Campaign, are very concerned about the double standard of the International community including the African Union (AU) as well as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) with regards to the current devastating situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), especially the M23 rebellion, the aggression from both Uganda and Rwanda and the failure of the DRC government to protect its population and its territory. In addition to the 8 million of Congolese dead, serious crime against humanity, mass killing and torture of Congolese civilians, systematic rape and abduction of Congolese men, women and children have been reported.
We condemn:
- The passivity / complicity of the government of Joseph Kabila and their lack of clear leadership to find a sustainable peace for our population;
- Poor leadership of Congolese opposition political parties;
- The Ugandan and Rwandan aggression toward DRC;
- While sexual assault was cited as a crime against humanity by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, there is a complete silence surrounding rape as a weapon of war in the DRC from the International community;
- The role of multinational companies that fuel violences and war in the DRC;
- Presidents Kagame, Museveni and Kabila's legacies that they had made it their missions to destabilize the DRC in order to rape it of its minerals for their personal gains and financial benefits.
Therefore,
- We are calling the government of Joseph Kabila to resign with immediate effect for treason.
- We are urging the South African government to play a clear leadership role for the benefit of the people of the DRC, to organize urgently a Congolese Inter-dialogue to assess the progress and achievement of the Sun City recommendations and to help the Congolese Diaspora to organize a transitional government. To recall its ambassadors to Rwanda and Uganda as diplomatic fallout over the aggression of the DRC by these two countries.
- We seek for solidarity from our fellow Africans, especially civil servants. Congolese want to know during this critical time of his history, their true friends.
- We demand that the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court should consider to investigate the Presidents Paul Kagame, Yoweri Museveni and Joseph Kabila and their accomplices based on REPORTS OF THE GROUP OF EXPERTS SUBMITTED THROUGH THE SECURITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ESTABLISHED PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION 1533 (2004) CONCERNING THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO 1.
- We are hoping that NATO will play in Rwanda, Uganga and DRC the same role they played in Libya by stopping Joseph Kabila, M23, Paul Kagame (The Hitler of Afrca) and Yoweri Museveni to shed more blood in the DRC.
- We call for the Congolese people to be mobilized, to show unity, bravery and to remain vigilant and disciplined.
This is the right time for us to fight until the last drop of our blood for peace and democracy in our country. It's our historical responsibility to do it. Wherever you are - in the country or out of the country - take the street with one message “Kabila MUST GO”.
