I received an invitation to be part of a BBC debate with Tony Blair and Desmond Tutu on poverty. The debate was scheduled to be held in Johannesburg tomorrow.
As everyone knows Archbishop Tutu has refused to share a platform with Tony Blair at the Discovery Leadership Summit. Blair is a war criminal who shares direct responsibility for the devastation of Iraq. Of course I could not accept this invitation and I have informed the organisers that I will not be attending and that I consider their decision to give a platform to a war criminal as if he was an ordinary citizen of his country to be grossly unethical.
I would like to join the call that has been issued for anyone who has the opportunity to affect a citizen’s arrest of Blair while he is polluting our already wounded country with his presence.
