The Portfolio Committee on Basic Education has expressed its deep shock and sadness at the killing of three learners in Limpopo.
The loss of life of the learners is distressing. The Committee expresses its most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the families.
The Committee has called for a full investigation and for the perpetrators to be punished severely for their crimes.
The three learners, a Grade 4 girl and two Grade 3 boys had gone missing after a protest march last week Wednesday to demand more teachers at the Dikobo Primary School. Their bodies were found on Saturday in Naboomspruit.
The Committee has requested that the Department of Basic Education investigate
the circumstances surrounding their deaths and report back.
