THE CONGRESS OF THE PEOPLE (COPE) condemns the victimisation of those who are perceived as not supportive of the views held by those in charge of the ruling party.

This follows reports today revealing that Former NPA Director Adv. Vusi Pikoli was fired from Sizwe Ntsaluba Gobodo (SNG) as a result of interference by unnamed ANC top officials.

This move interferes with Adv. Pikoli’s individual freedom of association and it is very similar to the old National Party harassment of those who opposed apartheid.

His only crime is that he holds views which do not rhyme with the views of the ruling party.

It is also regrettable that Sizwe Ntsaluba Gobodo (SNG) is alleged to have sacrificed a principle at an expense of an innocent, qualified and competent South African.

At this time our country requires men and women of principle who can stand up to the tyrannical action of the government.
