The Automobile Association (AA) warns motorists of another petrol price increase, scheduled for midnight on Tuesday 2 October. Petrol goes up by 23c per litre for 95 and 21c for 93, while Diesel will increase by 40c per litre.
The school holidays began last week Friday, meaning the increase will affect many travellers across the country. The AA urges holiday makers to fill up their tanks before Wednesday’s price hike, as well as to drive safely and smartly on the roads.
“We advise motorists to drive safe, and also to drive smart to save fuel. Stop erratic driving habits such as accelerating harshly as this uses more energy. Try to keep your accelerator in a constant position while on the move,” says Gary Ronald, Head of Public Affairs at the Automobile Association of South Africa.
Additional assistance to help motorists beat the petrol price increase comes in the form of R60, 000 of BP Ultimate fuel being given away to lucky motorists who become AA Members before 20 October. This will certainly make a difference for travellers fortunate enough to benefit from this initiative.
