The IFP is deeply saddened by the fire that destroyed 76 homes in St Francis
Bay in the Eastern Cape.

IFP Spokesperson on Human Settlements, Mr. Petros Sithole MP said, "We would
like to convey our deepest sympathies to the families that lost their homes
in the fire. We know this is tragic because their homes and belongings were
destroyed by the fire and have been left with no place to stay."

The IFP hopes that the families are placed in a temporal place in the
meantime and that the insurance companies will move swiftly to help rebuild
and restore the gutted homes.

"Those responsible for the fire must be charged and efforts must be made to
ensure that the rebuilt houses are not as easily susceptible to fire as
those that burnt down" said Sithole.
