The media is advised to note the following changes to the Judges appointed to the Commission of Inquiry into the Strategic Defence Procurement Packages (SDPP), and the Board of Inquiry established in terms of section 9(1) of the South African Police Service Act 68 of 1995, into allegations of misconduct by the National Commissioner of the South African Police Service or into his fitness for office or into his capacity for executing his official duties efficiently.

The members of the Board of Inquiry shall be the following:
a) Mr Justice Jake Moloi, as Chairperson, replacing Ms Justice Yvonne Mokgoro.
b) Adv Terry Motau SC, as an additional member; and
c) Adv Anthea Platt, as an additional member.

In the SDPP Commission, Mr Justice Willem van der Merwe has asked to be released by the President from the arms probe Commission for personal reasons.

The President thanks both Judges for initially availing themselves for these tasks and looks forward to working with them on other assignments.
