President of PAP, H.E. Hon. Dr. Moussa Idriss Ndele, MP, President of the Pan African Parliament (PAP) will from 26 through 5 November 2009 preside over the First Ordinary Session of the Second Parliament at the parliamentary precinct.

Invited Guests of Honour expected to address PAP Members are H.E. President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Jacob Zuma along with the African Union (AU) Chairperson and Leader of the Great Socialist People's Lybian Arab Jamahiriya, H.E. Brother Muammar al-Gaddafi. Their speeches are to be delivered on Monday, 26 October during the opening ceremony of the First Ordinary Session. The address by the two Heads of State will be preceded by eight invited African Speakers of Parliament's Messages of Solidarity including the host country's Speaker of the National Assembly, H.E. Hon. Max V. Sisulu and the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, H.E. Dr Huda Benamer.

Amongst the expected dignitaries is Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mr Jean Ping as well as AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Hon. Julia Dolly Joiner. Chairperson of the AUC will be presenting the annual legislative programme of the AU and on the status of the review of Protocol to the Treaty establishing the African economic community relating to PAP.

Hon. Ndele is also expected to present a report on activities that PAP has undertaken since he was sworn in as President of PAP. Issues to be deliberated on will primarily focus on the transformation of PAP into a legislative body and the impact of climate change on the African Continent.
