South African President Jacob Zuma has on Tuesday, 30 March 2010, joined other world leaders and the International communities in extending condolences to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and the People of Russia following the Moscow subway explosions on Monday, 29 March 2010.

President Zuma said: "I have learnt with schock and sadness of the terror attacks in Moscow which killed scores of innocent people yesterday. In this regard I wish to extend my sincere condolences to the Government of Russia and to the families of the deceased. "Our hearts and prayers are with you and most especially those who have lost loved ones during these callous attacks."

"The Government of South Africa firmly condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. We will continue to stand together with the Russian government to defeat the enemies of peace" concluded President Zuma.
