The Tshwete family is concerned by the opportunistic manner in which its family name is used to get political credence by the DA towards the upcoming local elections

Edward Bernays, the one person regarded as the father of public relations, once described public relations practitioners as social engineers who master the art of manipulating consumers for the benefit of their clients for purposes of creating wealth. It is the act of manipulation and giving false pretences and promises that these so called social engineers relied on to gunner many consumers. These dubious and cold tactics are devoid of any truth and conviction to the wellbeing of individual consumers, but just to amass wealth.

Similarly we see the Democratic Alliance, which is hell-bent on using every trick in the book to legitimise beougeouse and liberal policies, assuming a posture that is aimed at appealing to the black masses who have been hard hit by discrimination, segregation, exploitation and white domination in this country. One such action has been to recruit families of stalwarts to join their ranks and parade them in front of journalists so that they can attract media headlines.

The reality is that it will take more than the Tshwete and other prominent political surnames for the Democratic Alliance to be able to gain the conviction of the black masses as the party that will liberate them from the shackles of poverty, inequality and unemployment. The liberal politics that the DA espouses would do nothing more than to perpetuate the inequalities, poverty and unemployment of the majorly of the people in this country.

The Tshwete family and those of other prominent politicians together with the people of South Africa are not fooled by the posture that is being peddled by the DA in the media. They know the true colours of the DA and theirs is to protect the gains of the White minority capital at the expense of the poor Black majority.

For the record the family respects the decision of anyone of its members to join a political party of their own choice. We however, object to our family name being used in the cheap and desperate efforts by the DA to woo the Black Voters. As a family we shall address this with Lindela but not through the media and as such we know of no other members that have joined the DA.
