h Africa's Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism,
Mohammed Valli Moosa, and the Minister of Justice and
Constitutional Development, Penuell Maduna, will be launching the
country's second environmental court in Port Elizabeth
tomorrow.
The establishment of the environmental courts is a collaboration
between the two departments, and part of government's efforts to
clamp down on organised syndicates that are engaging in the
poaching of marine resources.
The court will focus on the prosecution of environmental-related
offenses, with a particular focus on abalone related offences.
