President Jacob Zuma has extended hearty congratulations to Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa on being honoured with the honorary Doctorate of Laws degree by the University of Venda today, for his role in leading the drafting of South Africa’s renowned Constitution.
The degree was conferred by the Chancellor of the University, Former President Kgalema Motlanthe.
“We are all delighted and honoured that the Deputy President has been recognised by the University in this manner. The Deputy President played a leading role in the drafting of the Constitution of the Republic and in ensuring a smooth transition of our country from apartheid to the democratic dispensation we enjoy today. This is a well-deserved acknowledgement. As Cabinet and the nation, we say hearty congratulations to the Deputy President,’’ said President Zuma.
