The first is an agreement regulating technical assistance between South Africa and France, and the second abolishes visa requirements between the two countries for diplomatic and service officials.
Although the media were allowed to witness the signing, no questions were permitted and journalists were told to keep these for a press conference today.
Dlamini-Zuma said the agreements showed co-operation and relations between South Africa and France were growing stronger.
De Villepin agreed, saying it was a sign of the vitality of the friendship between the two countries.
De Villepin arrived in Cape Town earlier yesterday for a two-day official visit.
He will also pay a courtesy call on President Thabo Mbeki yesterday afternoon, and attend a dinner hosted by Dlamini-Zuma yesterday evening.
He will spend today in Gauteng before leaving for Accra, Ghana on the next leg of his trip.
De Villepin is being accompanied by the Deputy President of the French National Assembly, Eric Raoult, who is also chairperson of the French-South African parliamentary friendship group. – Sapa.
