The Portfolio Committee on Arts and Culture has learned with shock of the passing of gospel artist Sfiso Ncwane. The Committee extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and the legions of his fans across the country and beyond.
“Mr Ncwane’s music soothed our souls and created a bridge with which we interacted with our maker. It is thus sad that death has cut short such a glowing career as we were looking forward to more spiritual songs to feed our souls, but we say “kulungile Baba ma kuyintando yakho” said Ms Xoliswa Tom, the Chairperson of the Committee.
Despite the hurt and shock brought about by death, the Committee lauds Mr Ncwane for the immense contribution he made to the music industry in this country. “He was a symbol of perseverance and hard work as an antidote to poverty and hardship. The music he has left for us is his legacy to this generation and many others to follow,” Ms Tom emphasised.
The Committee wishes his wife and children strength in this difficult time. “May they be consoled by the fact that his was a life well lived,” Ms Tom concluded.
Issued by Parliamentary Communication Services on behalf of the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Arts and Culture, Ms Xoliswa Tom
