Rand Water has successfully completed the installation of the two valve rigs on the B11/B19 pipeline on 17 November 2021.

The B11 raw water pipeline is now back in commission supplying water to the Vereeniging Water Treatment Works (WTW). The Vereeniging WTW has restored full supply to Rand water’s Eikenhof Pump Station which is supplying some municipal customers.

Several of Rand Water’s reservoirs are currently very low due to the recent completed maintenance programme and will take time to recover to full capacity.

The following reservoirs in the Rand Water network are critically low i.e. Rand Water’s Meredale and Foresthill reservoirs (0,58m). These low levels are currently having an impact on several municipal reservoirs within the Johannesburg Water network.

Full pumping supply to these reservoirs has been restored and Rand Water will provide Johannesburg Water with 2 hourly updates on the status of these reservoir levels, until 2

Johannesburg Water is able to start pumps from their Foresthill tower to supply water to the affected areas.

The current level of Foresthill reservoir is 0,58m and a head of 1,5m is required before water can be pumped from the Forest Hill tower. The following reservoirs and towers under Johannesburg Water are affected:

 South Hills Tower

 Forest Hill Tower

 Crown Gardens

 Eagles Nest

 Naturena

 Allenmanor

 Crosby

 Brixton

 Hurst Hill

 Waterval Tower

 Linden Tower

 Quelerina Tower

 Florida North Tower

 Constantia Tower

Consumers within the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality are requested to be patient and to use water sparingly during this period to allow the systems to recover fully and put water back into the various Rand Water and municipal reservoirs.
