Gauteng Premier, David Makhura will on Wednesday, 30 March 2016 host a Senior Management Services (SMS) Conference at the Birchwood Hotel in Ekurhuleni.
The one-day conference is in line with the vision of building a smart city region and transforming how government works in the Gauteng City Region. The Premier during his State of the Province Address in February acknowledged that Gauteng residents are intolerant of government failure and bureaucratic incompetence.
“We know that you want a government that honours its commitments. In this province, failure is not an option. Incompetence is not permissible and corruption is not acceptable,” said Makhura during the State of the Province Address.
The Premier will also announce plans to increase capacity required by public servants to implement the National Development Plan and spearhead the Gauteng government’s Transformation, Modernisation and Re-Industrialisation Programme (TMR) plan.
The conference will be facilitated by international and national speakers and will be attended by approximately 750 Senior Managers from all Government Provincial Government Departments, Gauteng Agencies and Municipal Managers in Gauteng.
Members of the media are invited to the conference as follows:
Date: Wednesday, 30 March 2016
Time: 08:00 (Registration)
Venue: Birchwood Hotel (OR Tambo Centre)
14 View Point Rd
Boksburg
A media briefing will be held during tea break at around 10:30.
