The Progressive Professionals Forum (PPF) wishes to convey its steadfast support for the people of Palestine during the ongoing crisis that has resulted in a genocidal attack on a civilian population. The PPF stands united with the courageous workers and professionals, including health workers and aid workers, who are risking their lives to provide crucial assistance amidst the indiscriminate violence and large-scale bombings devastating the Palestinian population in Gaza and other occupied territories.
The PPF acknowledges the immense sacrifice and unwavering dedication displayed by professionals and workers in Palestine who endure unimaginable hardships amidst relentless turmoil. Their commitment to delivering vital services, even under the most dire circumstances, serves as a testament to their remarkable resilience.
President of the PPF, Kashif Wicomb, expressed his concern, stating, "During this crisis, the PPF extends its deepest regards and heartfelt support to those striving to maintain a semblance of normalcy amid the relentless bombardments and chaos. We recognize the challenges faced by aid workers and professionals, including the severe limitations imposed by the current situation that may force them to halt humanitarian operations."
The PPF urgently calls upon the United Nations Security Council and the international community to unite and advocate for a swift and peaceful resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Ensuring the rights and safety of workers, professionals, and the broader civilian population is of paramount importance.
"We stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and remain committed to fostering a world where peace, justice, and the well-being of all individuals are central. We implore all parties involved to prioritize peaceful solutions and dialogue as the only way forward," emphasized Wicomb.
