Parliament's joint ad hoc committee to consider President Kgalema Motlanthe's decision to remove National Director of Public Prosecutions Advocate Vusi Pikoli, would today receive representations by Pikoli.

The committee's task was to recommend to the Houses of Parliament whether Advocate Pikoli should be restored to office or not. Parliament was required to consider and pronounce on the decision made by the President in December last year.

The Presidency would appear before the committee on Wednesday and the committee would then deliberate on the matter of the President's decision until January 28.

The 22 member committee, drawn from Parliament's National Assembly (NA) and National Council of Provinces (NCOP) would then vote on the issue and adopt a committee report.

Parliament's NA was expected to vote on the committee's report on January 30, and the NCOP to do the same on February 3.
