- Peace and Security Council Report No 660.29 MB
Special focus on the African Union Summit January 2015:
Heads of state of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) deferred the tabling of a crucial report on South Sudan and decided to send a regional force to combat Boko Haram.
There were side meetings on Libya and the Democratic Republic of Congo and a decision was made on finding alternative sources of funding for the AU.
Late-night talks between the belligerents in South Sudan also failed to produce a power sharing deal.
The PSC Report spoke to Ambassador Maman Sidikou, Special Representative of the African Union Commission Chairperson for Somalia, about gains made against al-Shabaab.
The publication of the PSC Report is made possible through the support of the Humanity United Foundation and the Hanns Seidel Stiftung. The Institute for Security Studies is also grateful for the support of the following members of the ISS Partnership Forum: the governments of Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the USA.
