WELCOME

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to South Africa and to beautiful Cape Town. You could not have chosen a better time to be visiting this part of Africa, when the Sun is smiling and welcoming you with a warm embrace.

It is also very significant for us in that you will be witness to our opening of Parliament for 2005 and the delivery of the State of the Nation Address by our President, His Excellency Thabo Mbeki scheduled for this Friday in Parliament here in Cape Town.

The President sets out in this address and assessment of the Government,
