A meeting beginning Friday, of the National Executive Committee [NEC] of the African National Congress [ANC] will concentrate on organisational issues, the SABC has reported.

"The NEC will mostly concentrate on the ANC organisational renewal. We will receive reports from the NWC [National Working Committee] regarding the Western Cape and the North West province," ANC spokesperson Jesse Duarte told the public broadcaster.

She said the NEC will also discuss recent service delivery protests that have rocked Mashishing and Piet Retief in Mpumalanga province, as well townships in North West, Western Cape and Gauteng province.

"We will look at the service-related protests and the ANC structures on the ground involvement in the management of those situations," said Duarte.
