Nedlac's Executive Director Herbert Mkhize said this yesterday at the launch of the council's latest newsletter, Dialogue.
Mr Mkhize said the implementation of agreements made at the GDS was the most important item with regard to Nedlac's plans for this year.
"The constituencies are all absolutely committed to making sure that the commitments that they made in June 2003 come to fruition," he said.
He said the council's secretariat had brought in extra project management capacity in order to help monitor the implementation of the agreements.
"Apart from reporting on all the issues on a monthly basis, constituencies will be mobilised around a particular theme of the GDS each month, such as learnerships, co-operatives and investment targets," he said.
The magazine's latest edition is dedicated to updating the public on progress made on all four themes of the agreements - namely job creation, investment, social equity and local action.
Progress was made on the Expanded Public Works Programme, promotion of co-operatives, preparations for a pension fund trustees conference, and expanding the notion of social dialogue to provincial and local levels.
Mr Mkhize added that updates in the newsletter were a precursor to a major annual review of progress, which will take place in the next quarterly meeting of Nedlac's executive management in May - BuaNews.
