S'busiso Joel Ndebele, Minister of Transport, acting in terms of section 75 of the National Roads Traffic act, 1996 (Act No 93 of 1996) and 146 (2) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996 (Act No 108 of 1996) read with section 3(1)(c) (i) and (ii) of the Road Traffic Act, 1989 (Act No. 29 of 1989) hereby authrorize that from 1 June 2010 to 20 July 2010 traffic officers appointed in terms of section 2 of the Road Traffic Act may function outside their areas of jurisdiction for the purposes of providing escort and protection duties to the FIFA delegates and soccer teams during the 2010 FIFA World Cup Soccer Tournament.
