The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs (“Minister”) has, by notice in the Government Gazette in terms of section 19(2) read with section 73 of the NEMWA, given her intention to publish a list of waste management activities that have, or are likely to have, a detrimental effect on the environment. These waste management activities will repeal the List of Waste Management Activities that have, or are likely to have a Detrimental Effect on the Environment, published in Government Notice No. 718 under Government Gazette No. 32368 dated 3 July 2009.
Members of the public are invited to submit to the Minister, written comments within 60 days of the publication of the notice in the Government Gazette (i.e. by 27 November 2012).
