National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act 10 of 2004

The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs published the Biodiversity Management Plan for the Black Rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis) in South-Africa for 2011-2020, as contained in the schedule to the notice.

The purpose of the plan, in terms of the act, is to ensure the long-term survival in nature of the species and provide for the responsible person, organization or organ of state to monitor and report o­n the progress with implementation of the plan; and to be consistent with NEMBA, the National Environmental Management Principles, the National Biodiversity Framework, any relevant international agreement, and any other relevant environmental management plans.
