Social Development MEC in the Eastern Cape Neo Moerane-Mamase will todaylaunch a massive multimillion rand turnaround plan to improve service delivery, root out corruption and enhance good governance.
Moerane-Mamase will today between 10:00 to 14:00 at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan City Hall, brief stakeholders and communities and launch the plan.
"This Plan, Sisionke Siyanqoba, as government we seek to ensure that the poor service delivery that had characterised the Department for some time, becomes history.
Through this Plan, we want to restore the dignity of older persons, people with disabilities and most importantly, to ensure that no child goes to bed without a meal.
This Plan can only succeed when we work together as partners with civil society, business, labour, community based organizations and faith based organisations," Moerane-Mamase said.
This Plan has been developed by the Interim Management Team and the Joint Management Teams following the President's call to turn the situation around with regard to service delivery in the Eastern Cape. Briefings will take place throughout the province during September and October, which is Social Development month. – Sapa.
