Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe on Thursday made his first public appearance since the country's elections last Saturday, state television ZTV showed.
Mugabe was shown meeting with the head of the African Union election observer mission, the former president of Sierra Leonne, Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, at his official State House residence in Harare.
Asked by a ZTV correspondent about his meeting with Mugabe, Kabbah said: "He looked very relaxed, and is of the view that the problems of the country will be resolved amicably, and he is very relaxed about it."
On the election results, Kabbah said: "He (Mugabe) was very relaxed about it. What he merely told me was what we already have on radio and television."
