President Kgalema Motlanthe and former president Thabo Mbeki have arrived in Harare, Zimbabwe, ahead of talks later on Monday with the country's political leaders.
The department of foreign affairs, said Motlanthe -- the current chair of the South African Development Community (SADC) and Mbeki, the SADC mediator, would be joined by Mozambican President Armando Guebuza, the president and deputy chair of the SADC organ on politics.
"The meeting of the leaders will be followed by a meeting of the negotiating teams which is expected to discuss outstanding matters related to the implementation of the Global Agreement, including the processing of Zimbabwe Constitution Amendment 19," the department said.
The meeting comes ahead of the Parliamentary session scheduled for Tuesday.
"In this regard, the SADC delegation is expected to hold discussions with President Robert Mugabe, Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara."
Tsvangirai is the leader of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and Arthur Mutambara heads a breakaway faction of the MDC.
