Former deputy president Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka made her first public appearance as the member of the Congress of the People (Cope) on Wednesday.
Mlambo-Ngcuka appeared alongside Cope presidential candidate Bishop Mvume Dandala at an election rally in Germiston. It was also the first public speaking engagement for Dandala.
About 500 people filed into Hellenic Community Hall ahead of the Cope's presidential candidate address.
Cope second deputy president Mbhazima Shilowa was among party leaders attending the rally.
Cope president Terror Lekota was not present at the event.
