The Honourable Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Nosiviwe Mapisa- Nqakula will lead a panel discussion on ‘UNLOCKING AFRICA’S AEROSPACE AND DEFENCE POTENTIAL’ as part of the activities leading up to the 9th Edition of the Africa Aerospace & Defence (AAD) exhibition, which takes place from 14 – 18 September 2016 at the Airforce Base Waterkloof in, Centurion.

The other panelists joining the Honourable Minister will be the Chief of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF): General Solly Shoke, Secretary for Defence: Dr Sam Makhudu Gulube, the Chief Executive Officer of Armscor: Mr Kevin Wakeford, Deputy Chairperson Armscor board: Ambassador Thuthukile Skweyiya and the Executive Director of the Aerospace: Maritime and Defence Industry Association (AMD): Mr Simphiwe Hamilton.

The discussion will be followed by a Question and Answer session.

AAD is coordinated by the partnership between by the Department of Defence and Military Veterans, SA Aerospace Maritime and Defence Industry Association (AMD), the Commercial Aviation Association of Southern Africa (CAASA), as well as the Armaments Corporation of South Africa (Armscor).

The discussion will be followed by a light breakfast and a walkabout orientation of the event. Members of the media interested in having a one-on-one interview with the Minister should indicate such no later than Friday 9 September, however, kindly note that such requests will be granted on a first-come basis.
