Minister of Communications Ms Faith Muthambi will hold an Imbizo at the village of Mphambo in Limpopo on the 29th of July 2016. The purpose of this Imbizo is to share information about government programmes and encourage community members living in and around Mphambo village to register for Set-Top-Boxes (STB’s) at their local post office.

The main objective for South Africa's planned migration from analogue to digital broadcasting, is to free up spectrum that can be used for the provision of mobile broadband and other ICT communication related projects. Currently there is dual broadcasting (analogue and digital) in South Africa. The Broadcasting Digital Migration Programme will see the phasing out of analogue signals.
