Title: I Matsepe-Casaburri: Appointment of new DG of Department of Communications
MINISTER'S STATEMENT ON THE APPOINTMENT OF THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS, 16 September 2004
Dear All
Cabinet has approved the appointment of the DG for the Department of Communications yesterday, the 15 September 2004 and in accordance with Cabinet practice the appointment was announced to the public.
I therefore take this opportunity to inform you formally that Ms Lyndall Shope-Mafole has been appointed the DG for DoC.
Ms Lyndall Shope-Mafole brings with her a wealth of experience technically, managerially and politically. She has vast experience as an activist for developing nations in various international ICT forums. She has also been closely involved in the evolution of the South African ICT sector.
I am currently attending Universal Post Union Congress in Bucharest and will be back in the country next week. I will then have the opportunity to introduce Ms Lyndall Shope-Mafole to the staff and the sector.
You will be informed of the venue and date for this purpose.
