According to a Red Cross spokeswoman, the Iranians claim there are no more prisoners and that there is no reason to doubt the statement.
The officers, some of whom spent more than 20 years in Iran, arrived Tuesday morning at Baghdad's airport.
The men, who were captured during the Iranian-Iraqi war (1980-88), were originally scheduled to have been repatriated last March with the help of the Red Cross. However, the impending US-British attack held up their return.
The former officers were dressed neatly, but one could see the traces of the years they spent in prison clearly on their faces, said an eyewitness in Baghdad. - Sapa
