Global Financial Integrity finds, in this report, that Africa lost $854-billion in illicit financial outflows between 1970 and 2008. Through greater transparency in the global financial system, illicit outflows can be substantially curtailed, thereby enhancing growth in developing countries and at the same time stabilising the economies of richer countries.
