The Inkatha Freedom Party Youth Brigade (IFPYB) strongly condemns the
actions of the unruly elements who where behind the illegal
demonstration at the IFP's head office in Durban this week and again
distances itself from calls for a wholesale change of party leadership.

"Prince Buthelezi was democratically elected in 2004 as President of
the IFP for a full five year term, a mandate which has not yet expired
yet. We therefore condemn those who are calling for the undemocratic
removal of our leaders as it violates our party constitution. We again
express our support and respect for our President and our party
leaders," said Pat Lebenya-Ntanzi, the acting chairperson of the IFP
Youth Brigade.

The IFPYB contends that the success of every political party requires
party unity. "We will therefore not tolerate ill-disciplined members
who bring the youth wing and the party into disrepute," said
Lebenya-Ntanzi.

Lebenya Ntanzi has implored members of the youth brigade to use
legitimate channels to raise their concerns. "The IFP offers ample
platforms for discussion and legitimate criticism and we therefore
encourage the disaffected youth to make use of the internal channels
at their disposal rather than taking their grievances to the streets
of Durban," said Lebenya-Ntanzi.

Lebenya-Ntanzi added that loyal members of the party should not to be
disturbed by the antics of a small group of youths.

"Those who driving the call for a leadership change are not registered
members of the IFP, they are acting against the will of the majority
of IFP members and they are using illegitimate structures to voice
their concerns. I would like to appeal to the ordinary, loyal IFP
member not to be fooled by the shenanigans of those who are clearly
preoccupied with their own agendas," said Lebenya-Ntanzi.
