The Inkatha Freedom Party has welcomed the judgement by the Supreme Court of
Appeal today, which has upheld an attempt for access to the records that led
to the suspension of criminal charges against President Jacob Zuma in 2009.
"We welcome today's ruling, as we believe that the fullest disclosure of all
the facts pertaining to this case will lead us to the truth, to the triumph
of justice, and ultimately the closure of one of the most embarrassing
chapters in our democratic era," said Mr Koos van der Merwe MP, IFP Chief
Whip and Spokesperson on Justice
He added, "Today's ruling again affirmed that no one in South Africa is
above the law. The IFP, as indeed the whole country, looks forward to the
review of the decision by the former NPA boss Mokotedi Mpshe, into whether
his judgement was sound and just."
