The IFP Youth Brigade (IFPYB) has condemned the illegal demonstration
staged today at the party's head office in Ulundi by a group of youths
incited by members of the IFPYB's KwaZulu Natal Provincial Executive
Committee.

"The IFP has repeatedly invited disaffected youth members to voice their
concerns inside the party before taking them to the media but to no
avail. The disaffected group's contempt for the party leadership
culminated today when it turned down an opportunity to present its
grievances to the IFP's National Council," said Acting IFPYB Chairperson
Pat Lebenya-Ntanzi.

The IFPYB regrets that the youths in question instead chose to defy
party discipline further by inciting an illegal demonstration outside of
the party's head office in Ulundi which hosted a special meeting of the
IFP National Council convened to hear these youths out. "The IFP KwaZulu
Natal Provincial Executive Committee had little choice but to suspend
their party membership," said Lebenya-Ntanzi.

The IFPYB contends that the behaviour of those in the IFPYB KwaZulu
Natal Provincial Executive who stood behind today's illegal
demonstration was in conflict with the party's values. "The success of
every political party stands on internal cohesion of views. The IFP
offers ample platforms for discussion and legitimate criticism. What we
will not tolerate, however, are ill-disciplined members who bring the
youth wing and the party into disrepute," said Lebenya-Ntanzi.
