The IFP National Council met in Ulundi on Saturday and Sunday, 13- 14
November 2010, and adopted the following resolutions.

1. MISLEADING STATEMENTS BY THE IFP NATIONAL CHAIRPERSON IN THE MEDIA

Having taken note of an article in today's Ilanga in which the IFP
National Chairperson, Mrs Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi MPL, calls on her
supporters to stop referring to her as the President of the IFP
because Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi MP is still the President until
the elective Annual General Conference and that it doesn't matter
whether they select the current incumbent President or Reverend Musa
Zondi MP, as long as it is done in a democratic manner, the IFP
National Council resolves:

- to condemn the comments made by the IFP National Chairperson as
mischievous, in view of the fact that the IFP President Prince
Mangosuthu Buthelezi MP has not yet indicated whether he is willing to
consider the National Council's request to continue leading the Party,
and IFP Secretary-General Reverend Musa Zondi MP has declared himself
unavailable to lead the Party;

- to call on the National Chairperson to refrain from making
utterances in the media, which amount to deliberate disinformation
aimed at confusing the support base of the IFP and causing further
division and disunity within the Party.

2. MISREPRESENTATION OF FACTS IN THE MEDIA

Further noting media reports on Thursday and in today's Ilanga
portraying the court case between Mrs Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi MPL and
the IFP as a personal battle between the IFP National Chairperson and
the IFP President; and misrepresenting the numbers of IFP supporters
versus those of the "Friends of VZ", the IFP National Council resolves:

- to condemn these reports as further propaganda and misinformation
against the Party as the court case by kaMagwaza-Msibi, Mcoyi and
others sought relief against the Party and not against IFP President
Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi;

- to further condemn the deliberate distortion of the numbers of IFP
supporters present at the Pietermaritzburg High Court as being less
than that of the "Friends of VZ", when the truth of the matter is that
the genuine and loyal IFP supporters far outnumbered those of the
"Friends of VZ";

- to call upon the media to exercise caution and sensitivity in
reporting on these matters of grave importance and to adhere to the
principles of responsible journalism at all times.
