The Inkatha Freedom Party says it's President, Prince Mangosuthu
Buthelezi is one among a few remaining endangered species of leaders who
are fast disappearing from the political landscape. This was said by the
eThekwini District of the IFP following their weekly meeting on Tuesday
which resolved to throw their weight behind the current President of the
IFP, as their candidate for the position of President at the coming
elective Annual Conference of the IFP. Announcing the position of the
eThekwini District, the eThekwini IFP Chairperson Mduduzi Nkosi said:

"After an objective analysis of the political situation and a thorough
debate among ourselves, the Executive Committee of the IFP in eThekwini
came to the conclusion that the IFP, and indeed South Africa, still
needs the sagacious leadership of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi. We are
acutely cognizant of the burden and mandate history placed on our
President when the giants of the struggle - iNkosi Albert Lutuli and Mr.
Oliver Tambo - as well as many other freedom-loving South Africans
called upon him to lead the struggle internally at the time when the
apartheid government throttled the struggle for liberation in the
1960's. Therefore currently no other leader is qualified to lead this
party in these turbulent times.

"Of more significance is that the Prince falls within the endangered
species of leaders who are fast disappearing from the political
landscape; leaders to whom the good of humanity and of South Africa
takes precedence to their own personal good; leaders to whom principle,
integrity and honesty take precedence over personal interests.

Our President must continue to lead the IFP as we seek to restore
morality and dedication to the cause of the poorest in the politics of
this country."
