THE Inkatha Freedom Party in KwaZulu – Natal is deeply concerned about
the wide-spread destruction and devastation caused by the incessant
rains that have lashed the province.

“At a time when families are supposed to be celebrating the festive
period, many are mourning the loss of loved one and countless others are
facing a bleak future having lost their homes and possessions,” said
Honourable Les Govender, Shadow MEC for Social Development.

The IFP urges the department to speed up relief efforts to alleviate
the plight of those affected by the rains. The IFP also commends all
those NGO’s, CBOs, religious institutions and individuals whose
generosity of spirit has brough hope to families in this time of
distress.
