The IFP says the ANC must carry the blame for the crisis facing
Municipalities in South Africa. The problems besetting the country,
according to the IFP, are the direct result of the ruling party's thinking
which placed ideological correctness above quality and professionalism under
the pretext of empowering the preciously-oppressed while it benefitted the
politically-connected.
"The Auditor-General's report which painted a very grim picture about the
Municipalities is undoubtedly an indictment against the ruling African
National Congress. That eighteen years since we ushered in a democratic
order, the Auditor-General's Report should highlight issues such as lack of
skills as one of the causes should make the ANC ashamed of itself," said
Joshua Mazibuko, IFP Deputy National Spokesperson today.
Mazibuko continued: "These, in fact, are the fruits of the ANC's
pie-in-the-sky thinking which sacrificed quality and professionalism on the
altar of ideological correctness which masqueraded as the plan to empower
the previously oppressed while it followed the narrow-minded cadre
deployment policy."
"That the ANC's policies have failed is evident in that it controls the vast
majority of Municipalities in this country and in most of them there is no
indication that anything good will ever come out. As if that is not bad
enough, two of the ANC-controlled Provinces, the Eastern Cape and Limpopo,
are a complete embarrassment, and on top, corruption is ravaging our country
like a plague and our roads have become killing-fields.
"Undoubtedly, the ANC has failed the people of South Africa and it is time
the people themselves effected change, not just by changing the face of the
ANC leadership, but by completely ejecting the ANC from power," ended
Mazibuko.
