The President of the IFP, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, surprised the 22 IFP
media and research staff attending an IFP Strategy meeting in Durban on 5
December, by bringing each one a Christmas present.

Buthelezi, whom the IFP Chief Whip quickly referred to as "Father
Christmas", joined the staff for dinner and thanked them for their hard work
during the year. He then wished them a merry Christmas and a prosperous
2013.

The gifts he then bestowed were individual and unique, leaving staff touched
by the President's obvious care and appreciation.

The IFP media and research staff who came to the Workshop from Parliament,
the Legislatures of Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, as well as the IFP Youth and
Women's Brigades, were astonished. "This is amazing," said a representative
of the IFP Youth Brigade, "How is it possible for a man as busy as our
President to find time to play Father Christmas to us?" But the answer was
quickly provided by his colleagues, "Because Buthelezi really cares."
