The Inkatha Freedom Party in KwaZulu Natal has retaliated at the Zululand
District Municipality Mayor, Zanele Magwaza Msibi, who has accused the IFP
of frustrating NFP's efforts to deliver water to the people of Zululand.

"KaMagwaza-Msibi knows very well that even when she was an IFP Mayor for the
past 10 years, the issue of water and sanitation was and is still a problem
for the Zululand District Municipality, in a sense that it needs R3.2
billion to provide reliable water services for the community," said
Honourable Blessed Gwala, Leader of the Official Opposition in the KZN
Legislature.

The IFP would like to remind KaMagwaza-Msibi that when she was not a Mayor,
she politicized water and sanitation service delivery, giving false hope and
empty promises saying that the NFP has a 'quick fixed' solution rather than
the IFP.

"She has forgotten that what is good for the goose is also good for the
gander. She is now swallowing her own bitter pills and the chicken has come
home to roast," said Honourable Gwala.

The IFP will not tolerate false accusations from Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi when
it is an open secret that the agreement that KaMagwaza-Msibi signed with the
department of Water Affairs and a farmer in Pongolo is what frustrates the
speed-up process of drawing water from Pongolo dam and almost all the other
rivers that flow within the district of Zululand.

"She must not shift focus from all other issues aligned with her failures
including internal squabbles of her own political party. She needs to
implement what she promised the electorates of a 'quick fixed' solution that
she made in 2011 during her campaign. The IFP should not be used as her
shield to cover self-inflated failures," said Honourable Gwala.
