The IFP KZN Caucus Leader, Mr Blessed Gwala, MPL, responded to the IFP
victory in Ward 1, Nqutu yesterday by saying; "We are extremely pleased that the hard work put in by the IFP structures and the IFP candidate, Cllr Zanele Sithole, has paid off in such a spectacular way. In retaining our Ward we are able to teach the ANC/NFP Alliance that the IFP cannot be simply wished away." "This victory is particularly satisfying because the IFP (1830 votes) was able to beat the combined vote of the ANC (720 votes) and the NFP (120 votes), therefore securing a total majority victory," Gwala added. "But as we all know wining an election is just the beginning. We therefore call on our newly elected Councillor, Mrs Zanele Sithole, to do both the IFP
and herself proud in the quality of her service to the people. The IFP exists to serve the people in the spirit of ubuntu and we will expect nothing less of Cllr Sithole and her colleagues in Nqutu," concluded Gwala.
