The IFP would like to congratulate the University of Cape Town for being
Africa's number one university and being in the top 200 in the world.
"This shows that our country offers the best higher education in Africa and
is among the best world universities who produce high-quality graduates. The
University of Cape Town should be celebrated for this achievement and be
encouraged to do even more," said IFP Spokesperson on Higher Education and
Training, Hon Alfred Mpontshane MP.
"UCT needs to share their ways of doing things with other universities in
the country so that they too can be amongst the best universities in the
world. It takes hard work and dedication to be amongst the best of best but
this is a very worthwhile goal to strive for as it has the direct effect of
creating world class graduates and this can only bode well for South
Africa," said Mpontshane.
The IFP hopes that in the next ranking the University of Cape Town will be
in the top 100 in the world.
