IFP: Resolutions adopted by the Inkatha Freedom Party National Council, Ulundi (18/01/2010)

RESOLUTION 1 - PREPARATION FOR ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE
1. The IFP National Council reiterates its position on the resolution passed on 24 October 2009 with regards to the following:
1.1 to convene the Annual General Conference for April 23 - 26 2010 as a political and an elective conference;
1.2 in order to ensure that the true and genuine will of the IFP membership is expressed and reflected the process of membership and branch status verification be strictly adhered to;
1.3 to call on all structures, i.e branches, constituencies, districts and provinces, to adhere to the timetable issued by the office of the National Organiser for the holding of their preparatory meetings for the Annual General Conference;
1.4 to appeal to and to urge H.E. Prince MG Buthelezi to positively consider remaining at the helm of the Party and continue to provide unifying leadership to ensure a smooth succession transition when the time is ripe;
1.5 to call on both the National Chairperson and the Secretary-General to continue working to promote the unity of the Party at all levels.

RESOLUTION 2 - MOTION OF CONDOLENCETO THE FAMILY OF THE LATE INKOSI NJ NGUBANE
2. The IFP National Council expresses shock and sadness on the sudden demise of Inkosi NJ Ngubane after a short illness. The IFP National Council:
2.1 remembers with fondness the humility and commitment to the numerous causes and tasks given to Inkosi Ngubane which he discharged with zeal;
2.2 expresses its heart-felt condolences to the family of Inkosi Ngubane;
2.3 calls for the inclusion of the name of Inkosi Ngubane in the hall of honour reserved for those members of the Party who displayed exemplary conduct and made positive contribution to the advancement of the Party and the people of KwaZulu-Natal and South Africa.
