The
Electoral Commission of South Africa will publish a notice in
the Government Gazette today informing South Africans where they
can inspect candidates lists of the various parties contesting the
elections.
The notice will be issued in terms of the timetable for the 2004
elections.
IEC spokesperson Lydia Young yesterday said the lists would be
available for inspection on March 12 and 15 during normal office
hours at the national, provincial and municipal offices of the IEC.
"A person wishing to object must do so by serving the objection on
the party that nominated the candidate and deliver the objection to
the Electoral Commission at its national office in Pretoria," she
said.
The closing date for objections is Monday, March 15. – Sapa.
