I welcome President Jacob Zuma’s announcement of the members of the Commission of Inquiry into the Arms Deal investigation. We must now wait for the release of the terms of reference
The terms of reference must empower the Commission to make recommendations for the prosecution of individuals who are found to have been involved in corruption if there is prima facie evidence implicating them.
The terms of reference must also investigate the reasons for President Zuma’s acquittal for his role in the arms deal.
They must not include the granting of amnesty for anyone giving evidence to the Commission because this is not an investigation into political offences but a corruption case.
