ID President Patricia de Lille has welcomed the SABC Board's decision yesterday to overturn Chairperson Dr Ben Ngubane's appointment of Phil Molefe as the Corporation's head of news.

‘However, the Independent Democrats would like to make it very clear that this does not absolve the Chairperson of the Board,' Ms De Lille says.

‘The ID will certainly call on the Chairperson of Parliament's Communications Portfolio Committee to summons the SABC Chair to Parliament to come and explain his sudden flouting of due process.'
